## Details

### After you install

1. The detection engine and its models are _inside_ the installer: no model download on first run, nothing to choose.
2. Locke mints this device’s certificate authority on the machine itself. Its private key is written to your home directory and never leaves it.
3. Sign in and join the Early Access waitlist. Only accounts granted access can continue and start the engine. Detection then runs on this computer. No prompt text or detected data is sent anywhere.
4. On Linux, capturing desktop and command-line tools needs one privileged setup step, which you run yourself. The [install guide](https://sonomos.ai/support/locke/install/) lists what it changes.

### System requirements

- Windows: 10 version 1809 (build 17763) or later, or Windows 11. Below that the installer refuses by name and writes nothing.
- Linux: x64, as a .deb or .rpm package.
- Architecture: x64 only. There is no native ARM64 build and no x86/32-bit support. ARM64 and unknown architectures get no automatic selection.

## Updates

Windows automatic updates are optional and start off. Turn them on in Settings, or check by hand. Locke verifies the signed update before installing it. Linux uses direct package downloads and has no automatic updater: download a newer .deb or .rpm here when one is released.
